WAKEHAM HOUSE -  available via airbnb

Wakeham House is a modern house, built in 2001 to combine principles of classical design with energy-efficient passive solar heating.  Its architect was Robert Adam, a leading British neo-classical architect.   In 2001, it won the Country Life ‘House of the Year’ award. It has also been the subject of many television programmes and newspaper articles.

It is available to rent for holidays via airbnb.  If you want to use it to host a wedding, or well-organised party, with tents in the garden and fields, this is possible - but we need to discuss your plans in detail before we agree, so get in touch directly.

We have close ties to excellent lighting and marquee companies, and to party planners who can organise everything  - entertainments, flowers, musicians, fireworks, food.  Or sometimes people just do it themselves with tepees and yurts.

These pictures give an idea of the main house. The four bedrooms have doors off a gallery which goes round the atrium. A balcony across the portico connects the two main bedrooms. The two principal bedrooms face (respectively) south & east, and south & west.

It has a triple-height central atrium with an open fireplace, a very modern kitchen, a 12-ft deep solar-heated swimming pool with 1m and 3m springboards, a 40 ft long shallow pool for learners, and a hard tennis court.
